Game Review
Carlton fans were on the edge of their seats at three-quarter time in this traditional clash at the MCG in front of a huge crowd. Twelve points up with a quarter to go, the Blues seemed on the verge of a mighty upset win - but the more-poised Bombers almost doubled their score before the siren to snatch victory by six points. In a postscript to the match, Carlton Legend Anthony Koutoufides would be suspended for the only time in his illustrious 278-game career. The charge of attempting to trip Bomber Peter Berbakov was sustained, and Kouta was outed for a single week.
