Game Review
Carlton lost their second match in a row, this time at the hands of the mid-tabled South Melbourne.Carlton were in 4th place with a strong percentage of 121.9, despite only winning 3 of their 6 games to this point in the Season.
Carlton who trailed all day, slammed on three quick goals half way through the final term to take the lead. It looked all over for South with Blues getting on top in all departments. But the Southerners hit back led by their ruck men and rushed the ball into attack where they scored a goal to give them a five point lead. At the bounce they took the ball into attack where Pratt scored the sealer.
Carlton coach Perc Bentley
"At the moment I would give anything for two good big men. It was obvious Carlton missed Milroy and Donaldson on Saturday to carry through the team's efforts. South deserves credit for it's win. It hit back well in the last quarter, after our boys had gone to the front."Best
