Game Review
Carlton started strongly in this match, and with the benefit of the wind opened up a two-goal lead by the first break. But the game was effectively over by half-time when South Melbourne kicked five goals to one by Carlton in the second quarter. Another three goals to one against the breeze in the third term killed any slim chance Carlton had to turn the tables.For the first time in the League, Carlton's side was unchanged from the previous round. The only positional change involved Bobby Walsh and Sam Chapman swapping between the forward pocket and full forward. The two 'bookends' in full back Oscar Manchester and full forward Sam Chapman were the only Carlton goalscorers, each landing two goals.
