Game Review
This game marked the successful debut of Brighton Diggins as captain-coach of the Carlton Football Club. One wonders if the expectations amongst the Blues supporters were as great on this day, as they were 27 years later (in 1965) - when another Carlton captain-coach in Ron Barassi also led the Blues into battle against Hawthorn at Glenferrie Oval in Round 1.
At the end of this round Carlton were in 4th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 121.1.
