Game Review

The Crisp brothers - 'Mick' and Gordon - both had good games as the Blues beat South Melbourne at the Lake Oval. 'Soapy' Vallence was held to three goals, but with 47 on the board by this stage of the season, he was still a strong chance of reaching the magical 100 goals for the season.

Bert Butler kicked three goals for the afternoon, and The Argus newspaper praised him by reporting, "For Carlton, Butler played a sterling game, his kicking and marking making him outstanding."

After this round, Carlton was clearly on top of the ladder with a percentage of 127.6.
