Top of the table Carlton were untroubled to trounce a poor Hawk side by 10 goals at Princes Park.

Hawthorn managed to limit the Blues to a 5 point margin in the first stanza before being over-run.

Bert Deacon continued to shine with another impeccable display at centre-half back. Ken Baxter proved the star up forward with 7 majors.
