Game Review
After last week's loss to North Melbourne the Blues rebounded against Hawthorn and basically ending their season as a consequence of this Blues win. After being kept goal-less in the second quarter, the Blues responded with a trademark third quarter blitz of eight goals to one to seal the victory.
Talented Carlton rover Ken Sheldon was at his devastating best in Saturday's match against Hawthorn and was awarded top votes as a result. Sheldon's constructive play was instrumental in many Carlton goals and ultimately in the Blues victory. Big Val Perovic was a thorn in the side of the Hawks forwards by constantly repelling their attacking moves. Perovic was the catalyst for a lot of Carlton's attacking play which resulted in goal scoring opportunities resulting from his pack marks and booming kicks out of defence. - Inside Football Player of the Year.
