Game Review
A beautiful autumn day allowed both teams to provide a well contested entertaining match only spolied by the poor kicking for goal. Carlton just had Fitzroy's measure. Rover Rod Ashman capped off his bagful of kicks with three goals as the Blues toppled Fitzroy. He earned a BOG whilst centreman Greg Wells again performed well to be in the votes - Hutton's Inside Football Player of the Year.A 15-minute burst by Carlton's Mark Maclure in the final quarter against Fitzroy virtually won the game for the Blues - Football Record.
