Coach Jack Worrall continued to turn over Carlton’s playing list, and made another five changes to the team for the daunting task of playing third-placed Collingwood at Victoria Park on the King’s Birthday Holiday Monday.Although the Blues were well beaten in the end, they put up a plucky effort, and were still in the contest when they trailed by only 8 points at three-quarter time. But the Magpies booted five unanswered majors in the last term to stretch the final margin to six goals.
Among the other results, Fitzroy maintained their unbeaten run and top ladder position with a big win over Geelong. The top four was now Fitzroy, Essendon, Collingwood and Geelong, followed by Melbourne, South Melbourne, Carlton and St Kilda.
