Game Review
Despite a slow first half, Carlton roared to life up at Carrara with an 11 goal to 3 second half to take the game by 4 goals. Stephen Kernahan was instrumental in the revival with his 18 kicks,10 marks and 5 goals Best on Ground display. The win actually saw the Blues hold top spot on the ladder, the first time the club had held that spot since Round 11 1988.The crowd of 9,066 was typical of the struggle for the forming Bears, although they were only a few years away from playing in their first finals series.
The Blues would welcome 6 new players, and 1 familiar face, to begin Season 1992. Stephen Silvagni would play his first game back from a knee reconstruction & line up on the forward line despite being selected at Centre Half-Back, whilst Oliver, De Iulio, McCormack, Sholl, Athorn and Spalding would all run out in Navy Blue for the first time.
