Game Review

On this joyous day, Carlton welcomed back Ken Baxter for his first senior match since the 1941 Preliminary Final. Already a Premiership star in 1938, Baxter was one of many Blues to serve his country in World War II. But while Carlton sat ninth on the ladder after this narrow win over South Melbourne, few fans saw us as genuine finals contenders.
