Game Review
Horrie Clover kicked 13 goals from Centre Half-Forward, the only time in history a Blue has achieved this feat. This is also believed to be the highest goal tally from CHF in league history although Laurie Nash supposedly kicked 18 from there whilst playing for Victoria in Interstate competition. The Blues annihilated the bottom-placed Saints and strengthened their position on the top of the ladder.
At the end of this round Carlton were in 1st spot on the ladder with a percentage of 149.6.
Horrie Clover kicked 4 goals in the first, 2 in the second, 4 in the third, and 3 in the final quarter.
"His finger tip marking and long kicking being superb." (J.W. Australasian July 30 p25). His tally is now 38 goals for the season.
