Game Review
Carlton’s second win against the Bulldogs in season 1999 was just as tight as the first, with the Blues narrowly holding off a fast-finishing Bulldogs team. The highlight of the match was the battle between ruckmen Matthew Allan and Luke Darcy – both would pick up Brownlow votes for their performances. Allan would finish the match with 27 hitouts, and 23 disposals. The Blues top possession-earner for the day was Fraser Brown with 31.This game also marked the first time in Carlton's history where two top ten draft selections would run out in Navy Blue in the same game. Debutante Murray Vance joined Kris Massie for this match, but sadly, neither would provide long-term value to the club.
Carlton’s win took us to 6th on the ladder with a percentage of 97.1%.
