The 1920's: A Summary

The 1920's were a time of Depression, a time in between major Wars and a time of struggle for the Carlton Football Club. Like the 1950's a few decades down the track, Carlton failed to win a Premiership over the 1920's, but many tried their hand at it.

The Blues would have 6 different Coaches over the decade, and 4 different Captains:

Coaches: Norman Clark, Horrie Clover, Percy Parratt, Paddy O'Brien, Ray Brew and Dan Minogue
Captains: Paddy O'Brien, Gordon Green, Horrie Clover and Ray Brew.

Unfortunately, the changes could not nab that elusive goal, a Premiership. But we did get close - Runners Up in 1921, third in 1920, 1927 and 1929 and 4th in 1928. The Blues were close, but not close enough.

To make it worse, we would have to wait another 8 years into the next decade before pulling off our next Premiership, our 6th in 1938.
